PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Greetings to everyone. This is indeed an exciting moment, for the aspirations and dreams of Hawaii nurses of Philippine ancestry to be a part of the Philippine Nurses Association of America, became a reality. This is a culmination of planning and hard work of the officers and members and the strong support from our PNAA president, our mainland and counterparts specially PNA New York, PNA South California, and the Western Region chapters. PNA Hawaii was formed to achieve innovative collaboration and bridging Hawaii nurses of Philippine ancestry to PNA America, Hawaii Nurses Association, Oahu Filipino Community Council, other organizations and agencies.
Nowadays, we need to collaborate and affiliate ourselves to survive like most of the organizations and corporations had done. Dinosaurs are extinct and gone because of its failure to adapt changes to environment and time. Let us all board the train of TIME CHANGE without compromising the legacy of our own and organization's existence; otherwise, we are left behind. Let us all be part of the future.
Our mission and goals are presented in three words: VIABILITY, VITALITY, & VISIBILITY. PNA Hawaii also has our own PRIDE. It stands for our values:

By focusing on our mission and goals, we, the officers and members of PNA Hawaii, envisioned ourselves to move forward. At the State level, we envisioned a continous collaboration with Hawaii Nurses Association, Oahu Filipino Community Council, other health organizations and agencies. We will be well-represented nationally and internationally through PNA America. We will join PNA America as an advocate for human rights of the Filipino nurses. We will support each other to face the still changing paradigm of overall healthcare system, mostly designed to increase productivity and to constraints on spending growth, promote efficiency, strict government regulations on duplication of services, prudent effective medical reimbursements and advancing technology. As we move forward, the healthcare problems will continue. PNA Hawaii will join the Hawaii nursing community on issues of patients rights, health promotion by early diagnosis, health screening and also focusing on wellness.
Lastly, PNA Hawaii was challenged to host the 25th Philippine Nurses Association of America National Convention in the year 2004 here in Hawaii. PNA Hawaii will be ready with your support.
